A perfect day
In August 2019, I attended the wedding of Mr and Mrs Allwood. It was a lovely day. It started off a little cold with some rain clouds in the sky. We weren’t sure whether the outdoor ceremony would be going ahead but by the time of the wedding it was lovely and sunny outside.
The hotel room was full of excitment as the bride, her bridesmaid and mother began to get ready for the big day!
Before we knew it, it was time to get laced up!
The bride looked absolutely stunning in her lace and sequin A-line gown. I really loved the train on this dress. It’s tradition for Mum to help lace up the corset but Mum was sorting something at the time that the bride needed to get into her dress. This is where I become more than just the photographer. I am always happy to lend a hand whenever it is needed. In this case, I helped the bride into her dress and began lacing the corset up until Mum came back to finish it off and give the final adjustments.
It turned out to be such a sunny day which was lovely. All the family were sat out in the sunshine watching the happy couple make the vows.
Once the ceremony was finished, it was then time for the prosecco and time for the wedding party to relax and interact with each other. With us being in lockdown right now in the UK it feels very strange for me to say that. It feels like such a long time ago that we were allowed to meet up with family and have parties and weddings etc but I do love looking back at these photos to reminisce and remind me on what we have to look forward to once the pandemic is over.
After the prosecco and mingling outside it was then time for the reception!
One of my favourite moments of the day is the speeches and cutting of the cake. It is so lovely to hear the kind and usually funny words about the bride and groom. The grooms speech always seems to tug at my heartstrings. I am very soppy and it’s so lovely to hear the groom speak from his heart about his wife.
