A beautiful day!
I recently had the pleasure of meeting a beautiful couple who were expecting their first child! How exciting!
They wanted a way to remember the miracle of child bearing and so naturally, I was more than happy to help capture their magical experience. We started off at a location that was quite small and quiet. It’s a wood local to Hemel Hempstead called Longspring Wood in Kings Langley. This wood is easily missed if you didn’t know it was there and I only found out about it due to doing some research on locations for my upcoming spring Bluebell sessions. I then went to visit the wood myself and fell in love with it. There are so many unique spots on the short circular walk around it whether it be enclosed in green lucious woodland or down at the end where it opens up to show an amazing landscape overlooking hills of green!
We started off with some posed photos of mum and dad against the beautiful big tree that poked out of the growth. The way the sunlight shone down on this couple during this shoot was just esquisite!
We continued to walk around the small wood to another gorgeous location which will soon be full of bluebells. You can the see them beginning to grow on the ground.
Time for the second location!
After we finished at Longspring wood we then moved onto the second location. We chose to use Leavesden Country Park. It started off with the sun shining but unfortunately we were covered in a bit of a shower but thankfully this didn’t last long and we were back to shooting in the sun. All the people at Leavesden were lovely in waiting for our shot or by congratulating the new mum to be which was so lovely to hear when for a year we have been stuck in a lockdown.
It felt amazing to be out and about and behind the camera again after such a long time in lockdown. It has been so hard and there has been so much unknown that it feels like such a huge relief that outdoor sessions can now begin again in the UK. I am still counting down the days until my studio can open it’s doors again.
It was such a pleasure to meet this lovely couple and I wish them all the best in their lives as parents.
